Now that the doors of your business are open, it’s time to attract attention. Here are some relatively inexpensive ways to market your new business.
First, consider hosting an open house. Invite the local media, target customers, owners of nearby businesses, and employees of the local Chamber of Commerce. Let people see that you are open for business. Let them sample your product or service.
Post eye-catching announcements about your business on bulletin boards in key places where your potential customers would be. Use a tear-off slip so people can easily contact you.
Put magnetic signs on your car with your business’ name, phone number and web address. These will turn your car into a moving billboard.
Team up with compatible businesses to pass along information about your company. Agree to do the same for them.
Finally, encourage your satisfied customers to spread the word by offering a referral discount. Word of mouth is invaluable. It’s the most effective and doesn’t cost you anything.
